Films can tell us a lot about the country where they were made. What have you learned about a country from watching its movies? Use specific examples and details to support your response.

            Movies can tell about what countries are like country and the culture of this country. In some movies you can learn about history.  I love comedy movies and this is not a good type of movie that you can learn about the culture or the history of a country. One movie that I liked was not a comedy that told about is history. These are 2 different movies “The Phantom of the Opera” another that I saw “the Patriot”.

 “The Phantom of the Opera” takes place in Paris in XIX and I could see in this film what people wore. The people wore a very reword dress.  The dresses were very long and I think very heavy too. How they look because the people in this era were different than us. For example the hair was very well groomed. The buildings were old and grey color. The people rode by horses and carts with horses.

             The second movie was “the Patriot. It is about the history of United States at the time when the British wanted to conquer the west part of America. This movie I liked it because I could imagine the life and the fear of the people in a war. When I first saw the movie I thought that it was very boring. One day my father took to see Charlestown. When I was in the city of Charlestown I realized how life was and how they lived.

            Movies are good for entertainment and to learn things about the country that it is in filmed in. I think that movies can teach you a lot of things about the country. After you see the movie, you can learn more traveling to the places where by the movie has taken place.

Some high schools require all students to wear school uniforms. Other high schools permit students to decide what to wear to school. Which of these two school policies do you think is better? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

                                              

            Some of schools require students to wear school uniforms and other high schools do not. Usually the students that wear uniforms are in private high school although students in a public school can wear uniforms too. I think this is a good idea because all the student can feel that have the same rights as other people.

            I think uniforms in school are a very good idea because all people feel equal. No one would be envious and jealous of other people wearing nice clothes. For example, I used to live in Spain. My school was private but we didn’t wear uniform. In my school I could see that people would want to know people for how they looked. If a boy wore nice shoes and a nice jacket, the “popular people “meet him but if a boy wore black clothes this boy would be considered a weird boy. The uniform allows people to be judged for their personality.

            These days I think that schools with no uniforms have a big problem what students people wear. Sometimes for example boys wear their trousers below their waist or the girls wear provocative clothing I think these problems can end by putting in all the schools the uniform. I know that is difficult because some people would not requiring student to wear. The uniforms can be very expensive. My school is Newton South High School is a big school and I don’t think that the uniform would work.

            Also I think that for students. It is a good idea although they think that is not. I personally am tired waking up in the morning, then I have to think about can I wear. If you wear a uniform you don’t have to worry about what you have to wear the next day. It is always the same.

            Uniforms are a good thing for society and for the school. Uniforms are comfortable for everyone. People would be able to meet people that they might not have gotten to know simply due to what they wear.      

Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with?

        We spend so much time watching or reading advertising that we do not even need. Experts believe that the amount time of advertisement should be controlled in some ways otherwise the people's income spends on equipment that they do not need. I think also that the advertising it is very important for many things.

I very much disagree with the statement on TV always trying to sell you a lot of things that you think that this thing is useful but when you carry it it’s not useful. For example when I am watching criminal mind and the TV show goes to the commercial and most of them are selling product that are not useful. Yesterday I was watching commercial TV and the started. It was offering something to move furniture. I thought this stupid commercial because if it only cost 5 dollars it probably would not work after a few days.

Also the commercials are bad for the children. When they see TV a toy on that they like they want it, and many products are not of this products is not like the advertising says. The commercials confuse children and the children believe. My brother is a good example. He is obsessive about cars and he loves all kinds of cars. He saw on the TV a car track and he wanted it. He saved for it for 3 month. He went to the store and bought the car track. When he come home and started to play, he realized it was not the same to the advertising. He cried a lot. He learnt his lesson.

Advertising can be useful because if a new product goes on the market you can compare it to other products. You can also know that this product is new. I though advertising especially love the technology and specific the apple store I love when I saw the TV or the new and I saw that there is a new product of apple. I am always interested in seeing the new item on TV

Commercials always make you think about and to buying one day but have to realize that sometimes you can make bad decisions buying thing online and on the phone.

Some people trust their first impressions about a person's character because they believe these judgments are generally correct. Other people do not judge a person's character quickly because they believe first impressions are often wrong. Compare these two attitudes. Which attitude do you agree with? Support your choice with specific examples.

Each time we meet a new person, we make pre-judgments about them. These judgments can be true or false. There are a lot of people who believe that the first impression is always correct. Personally, through my experience I think that the first impression it is not always correct. There are a lot of factors that have an impact clarity. In other words our first impression is made under different conditions.

            One of the factors depends in which place you meet this person because it is not the same to meet a person at a party or at work. When you are at a party everybody tries to be friendly with everybody. For example if you meet a boy at a party, he can seem very friendly but when you hang out with him one day you can see that this person is very different that the boy that you met at the party. Another place that a person can be very different isat work. A person at work can be very unfriendly because he is focusing on his work. For example if you hang out with him one day he can be the best person in the world.

            I never judge a person by his experiences but my father does. I had a lot of discussions with my father about this. My father is always judging people and says bad things about them and this make me very angry. For example, if a boy wear a hat this person cannot be a good person. Two years ago I went to a summer camp in Santander, Spain.  I made a lot of friends and one of them was black. This boy was awesome, he was fun, a good person and if you had any problem he was always there. One day all the people from the summer camp hung out in Madrid and my father saw the black boy. When I came home he said that I cannot more see him. I told him that he is a good person and my father said to never trust the people for what they are tell you.

            I think in this world everybody judge people before meet them and I don’t like this because a person can have a bad appearance but this person can be the best person in the world.
